Get in the swing of things! The 17th Annual Canadian Big Band Celebration will be held September 9-11, 2011 in the town of Saugeen Shores, which includes the beautiful lakeside communities of Port Elgin, Saugeen Township, and Southampton Ontario Canada.

Now in its 17th year the Canadian Big Band Celebration committee will be teaming up again this year, with community art and culture groups, to help celebrate the wonderful dance and dance pavilion heritage we share along the Lake Huron shoreline 1920-1960.

THE NEW FORMAT for THE BIG EVENT!

Celebrating the dance music of the most cherished period of popular music "The Swing Era" continues to be what the Canadian Big Band Celebration is all about. However, the amazing popularity of dancing in lakeside dance pavilions as styles of music evolved from the 1920's to the 1960's is a rich heritage we all share. Our new format for the Saturday Big Event reflects and celebrates this wonderful heritage.
