Canadian Big Band CelebrationGet in the swing of things! The Canadian Big Band Celebration is held annually on the weekend of the third Saturday in September in the town of Saugeen Shores which includes the beautiful lakeside communities of Port Elgin, Saugeen Township, and Southampton Ontario Canada. Now in its 16th year the Canadian Big Band Celebration committee has teamed up this year, with community art and culture groups to help celebrate through the arts, the wonderful dance pavilion heritage they share along the Lake Huron shoreline 1920-1960. Celebrating big bands, the fabulous dance repertoire and the musicians who perform this timeless music is what the Canadian Big Band Celebration is all about. Since the first CBBC in 1995, over 2600 musicians and 30,000 music fans have participated in the annual celebration. Our local sponsors and volunteers continue to bring this wonderful celebration of great music to the thousands of music lovers from near and far who come to dance, to listen and to share in the joy of music! The Canadian Big Band Celebration committee acknowledges gratefully, the financial support of the Government of Canada through the Department of Canadian Heritage.
